William Paulet, 4th Marquess of Winchester (bef. 1560 – 4 February 1628) was the son of William Paulet, 3rd Marquess of Winchester and Agnes Howard. He married Lady Lucy Cecil, daughter of Sir Thomas Cecil, 1st Earl of Exeter and Dorothy Neville. Lucy and William had six children:

She was the second daughter of Sir William Pawlett, of Edington, Wiltshire. Sir William was the eldest of five children by the William Paulet, 3rd Marquess of Winchester, and his mistress Jane Lambert. Elizabeth is therefore the John Paulet, 5th Marquess of Winchester's cousin.
